That's an easy one, ever since the guys who called themselves Democratic-Republicans (who eventually split into the Democrat and Republican parties respectively) gained power and pushed the Federalist Party to extinction, life overall in our country gradually went downhill until we arrive at the present point in time.

So many of the appointees in trump's cabinet and and other government positions have turned out to be plain crooks or other low life's that it is pathetic. If they are not crooks they are appointed with the idea of dismantling the department to which they were appointed.The stated aim is to reduce regulations and preform in a more efficient manner. In fact, it is to cut costs and ease the requirements so corporations can operate at lower costs and with less safety for their employees and the population.In addition the appointee may have been a large money producer for trump like De Vos . DeVos , Carson, Pruitt and so many of the others have ruined the departments they were appointed to or are so ineffective that it is nothing less than a crime they serve there.The net results have been a science department not allowed to practice or discuss science, a CDC that threatens the safety of lives in the USA,an environment department against environment issues, tax deduction for the wealthy being paid for by the average person through revisions of the tax code, medicare,medicade and a reduction of the number of personnel in government. This simply put is a rape of the government and the duties it was to preform.
