Why are we not farming politicians who have the integrity to say, no, I'm not a believer in religion?
I'm not saying be disrespectful. What I'm saying is that policies created by and adopted by our institutions of civic governance make a difference to humanity. Policies in the US are generated out of a democratically elected political system of government authority. The political process that puts these people in power, and influences their actions, is flooded with money from unabashed religious organizations - which are a big part of the problem for humanity because they foster unproductive mindsets.
I am looking for institutions and foundations, which I can contribute to, that are/will counter the big money religious ones. Institutions that also promote political candidates that proudly and without any hesitation, acknowledge that they are A-theistic - because reason, logic, and scientific knowledge is what is real, and religion and magical gods are not (Just like religious organizations are doing in the other side).
I ask, is there such a thing?
Only in the USA are we still shackled by religion and its extremists. Funny, eh? There needs to be more open reporting of the harm and un-American strictures that religion does. Make these lying, "holy" politicians drop the crap and swing the nation back to the Constitution. Republicans can be smart and compassionate again. Vote in some humans ones. And liberals, find your fight!
Wow, would I LIKE to see that happen! At this very time, Pruitt is investigating every single member of his EPA departments to see if they have made negative remarks about trump! This is simply beyond a rigged system to me! It is difficult to hold out hope, with this much 'weight' stacked against us! Just when I see a little hope, I am blinded by reality!!
Don't give up hope Freedompath! Never give up on reason, logic and free thinking. We can't let the bastards win!
By the way, your profile post is so inspiring. Thank you - you rock.
@MrLink thank you, I am humbled!
The crest of the wave gets smashed to mist. It only gets smoother for those that follow.
Someone's got to be in the vanguard, but who would want to? It takes a certain kind of person to sign up for that kind of sacrifice.
I did it--inadvertantly, as a female longboarder in an evidently medieval town--and I found out I do not have the temperament.
You can end up setting your movement back if you don't play your cards right.
