While in your teens did you see your current age as old?

53 did seem old to me then. Sometimes feel old when I see someone in their 30 and realize that I am old enough to be their father.

In 1960, at 16, I could not imagine ever living to see the year 2000. It was so far away!

Now I am looking forward to 2100. 🙂

I am standing at the milestone in my life where I can see it's downhill from here.....things should be easy and I should start to pick up speed towards whatever is in store....

Yes, part of the human condition.

It even feels like the late 30’s are immature.

People seemed to act much older then at a younger age.

Women in their late forties and early fifties were wearing those snap-front house coats and ugly shoes.

Men were buttoning their pants at chest level and showing white socks with black shoes.

People are active and engaged with life and wearing jeans often to the end of a long life.

Steven Tyler is 70. If a 70 year old like that existed when I was in HS I did not know about it.

I didn't really give it any thought. I just remember not wanting to work in a factory ever but I did work there for a year. Long enough.

No, and I'm currently 32 years old. 50-60 year olds seemed old to me in my teenage years

I can remember my mamaw's 38th birthday, I was 8. When I was a teenager she seemed ancient, but she was only in her 40's. Now, here I am with a son that's the same age that I was when my grandmother was the age I am now and I realize age is what you make of it. She acted old, so she was. I don't, so I'm not.

1

Eh, not really. I'd say old is when someone reaches 70.

2

When I was a teenager i thought people in their 30's were old and that people my age (pushing 70) was prehistoric

1

I don't think so. I think I always thought old was like 70s-90s when bodies start to most noticeably seem to atrophy.

1

Yes. Positively ancient!

I'm continually amazed at how "young" my parents actually were.

1

For sure. When I was a teenager anyone over 40 seemed old to me

Hell I see it as old now, but do I feel old...not really and yes I did see.my age as old when I was in my teens

0

absolutely - anyone around my parents' age was way up there !

I did not expected to reach 60 to tell you the truth. I remember wondering what we were going to do at 40 to get pussy? The answer was... prostitutes(according us 13-14 year olds). Well... so ignorant of me... I got more poontang on my 40's than any other decade. After that... does not mattered how old I was going to get. 40's were the bomb. 50's were glory days after the battle was over. On my 60's I am resting to charge again on my 70's.

When I was 19, I was in the bar and would always notice this creepy old man checking out all the young girls. I was out with my (now ex) husband a few years ago and I realized he was the creepy old man sitting at the bar! Lol

There's just something not fair here. First, I was a creepy kid, then I was a creepy young man. Now I'm a creepy old man.

Come on!! How does a guy get a break??

1

Got worse on every birthday. Gawd, I'm 61 now!

I remember when I thought 24 was old ?

0

I never thought I'd make it to 18, let alone my age now. So absolutely!

1

NO! I saw it as ancient ... like how old trees are.

Yes and no. My maternal grandparents were slightly older than than my current age and they were young at heart. Now when I see teens and anyone under twenty-five I have a tendency to think of them as a kid, not out of disrespect necessarily, just because of the age gap.

When I see old pictures of celebrities that I thought of as old when in my teens I look st them now and think “good grief, he/she was just a youth!” I remember, when about 15 years old, thinking that Bob Dylan was getting on a bit and past it; he was 30 at the time.
