So you can't make a movie about a long-dead/mythological Queen without triggering riots. Sheesh.

Some people need to get meaning in their lives!

And simply on the subject of protest the following is a fascinating record-
[theguardian.com]
But surely the ultimate protest was the assasination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria, heir presumptive to the Austro-Hungarian throne, and his wife Sophie, Duchess of Hohenberg, occurred on 28 June 1914 in Sarajevo when they were mortally wounded by Gavrilo Princip. That resulted in millions dead. The effect still rippling on 100 years later - I know because I am the last of my paternal lineage as a result of that war.

Hi Poetdi56,Groups critical of the film, set to be released on Thursday, have accused its director, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, of distorting history by portraying a Muslim ruler as the “lover” of the Hindu Queen Padmavati of the Rajput warrior clan. This portrays the intolerence and stupidity of the religious people.but good on the Indian government for refusing to ban the film.

The meme says it all...

I remember when "The Last Temptation of Christ" came out, and people were losing their tiny little minds over it. The believers are often hard-pressed to tolerate anything that even remotely challenges their ingrained beliefs. Even when they've got the history completely wrong, which they almost always do, they refuse to accept any other ideas but their own.

What the hell is wrong with people? I ask this, but I know full well what the problem is. So you make a muppet and you call it Mohammad. What will happen? You write a story about Jesus that shows him as an extremist left wing radical with heavy socialist sympathies. What will happen? You make a movie sympathetic to the LGBTQ community. What will happen? It's all bullshit overload in the minds of people.

Stupidity runs rampant everywhere. UGH!

Resurrect Professor Cipolla ... now that would make a riotous film if Hollywood was not allowed to sugar wrap it.
