You escaped the cold! Good for you. I am hoping to do the same some day soon.
Come on down. Just be advised on cultural differences. Much more religious in most areas of Southeast, although moderated along coastlines.
I remember that Manitowoc is the coldest spot in WI in the summer.

@GipsyOfNewSpain I look forward to getting to know you and others on this site. I enjoy what I see so far. I will certainly appreciate the further distraction, and will try to add a little humor, as well as some occasional seriousness, when warranted. 
Welcome. You do come from cold country. Taught a two week course in Minneapolis in January years ago, the record low in the State was 59 below at Tower while I was there. (If I remember it right). Go off the plane in Portland, Oregon and it was 71 degrees warmer that Minneapolis.
Sorry, didn't read the city name right. So my Minnesota story doesn't work.
