QUESTION “Christianity Free School Zones”, Iceland’s New Leader Creating

Reykjavik, Iceland – This small island country nestled in the North Atlantic is making big waves. Andrea Canard is the new Prime Minister. She is declaring her first order of business is creating Christianity Free School Zones.
What Are Christianity Free Zones?

The proposed Christianity Free School Zones are to include not only the property of the educational facility but a perimeter of 1,000 feet around them. No new churches can be built within the zone. Churches already present within the area will be lovingly transported brick by brick to an area declared appropriate.

If anyone is attempting to preach to the students within the area, they will be escorted away by law enforcement and given a stiff fine. Repeat offenders will be subject to watching the classic Carl Sagan television program Cosmos , as well as Neil deGrasse Tyson’s updated incarnation Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey

Wow, another reason to put on my Icelandophile list!

f you look into the article , it's satire . I know , only if it were true . . .

fug, that's hilarious how willing I was to believe it!! I've been to Iceland and studied the history and I was completely down with that!!!!!!!! HA HA HA HA HA HA!

It was really late at night and I didn't even read your whole post or the whole article, or I think I would have had second thoughts about the being forced to watch Cosmos part! ha ha! much as I adore NdGT!!!

Cool! My daughter wants to go to Iceland for a vacation. Maybe I should move there!

@Douglas I wish it were true 🙂 I still want to go to Iceland. I hear it's atheist and agnostic friendly.

I think I should move, only a few hundred people, it is greener than Greenland, and look what they did to their banking system after the GFC. Awesome country.

What a good idea! They jailed all their banksters too, right? Smart Vikings!

Hey, It should be true. Across the street for our closest high school, is a Mormon House. At least it is not in the school.

If we're posting the Onion or Laughing in Disbelief stories maybe we ought to declare them satirical in out post. Sometimes I just glance and don't think critically and then feel really stupid after.

I just read the headline and believed it. THe Onion is too good sometimes

When I post satire , it's under "Slliy , Fun , & Random". Looking at what it's posted under helps. Sometimes , like today even , I posted something under that title , but it was true . Crazy , but actually true was the interview that claimed DJT was going to be touched by god . . .

@btroje This one came from "Laughing in Disbelief"

@Douglas I just read that. Heck I don't mind if satire is so good I am sucked in.I laff harder when I figure it out. But just as you are saying truth is stranger than fiction all too often these days

2

A nicely written piece of satire. Good enough to suck in the less wary. Very funny.

the onion does that

@btroje So does "Laughing in Disbelief".

3

Satirical, but I wish it were true!

I posted it for dreamers . Someday my friend , someday . . . 😉

Controversy

Prime Minister Canard may be the leader of Iceland. However, she is taking the heat from fiscal conservatives. The price tag to the Christianity Free School Zones has not yet been calculated. Regardless, no one thinks the cost will be cheap.

Prime Minister Canard issued a statement about the controversial proposal:

I care about our children and Iceland’s future. We need to be looking forward and not backward. Religious faith holds us back from seeing the world as it is. That’s why Christianity Free School Zones are necessary. Our kids can’t afford to be exposed to toxic superstitions while they are learning fact-based facts.

President Trump vs. Iceland

Relations between the US and Iceland have been strained since Iceland declared Christianity a public health hazard. Tensions were frosty and then got icier when Iceland issued a travel ban against American white Southern Baptists.

President Trump is taking the Christianity Free Zones seriously. He issued an official tweet warning if Iceland doesn’t change its ways, then Mike Pence will attempt to invade once more with the Department of Anti-Witchcraft Forces.
Prime Minister Canard stated Trump should save the propaganda for when he’s on The 700 Club.

Both sides aren’t about to give.

Icelanders are reportedly enjoying the all too real reality show. “This is almost better than being in the World Cup, and the US isn’t,” quipped one anonymous supporter of Prime Minister Canard.
