I disagree with that on a number of levels. Firstly, you cannot rationally or reasonably expect any organization (the NRA in this case) to almost immediately give a statement on a case such as what happened with Siwatu Salama Ra, not an accurate statement anyway because the NRA didn't know the whole story until more details came out and both sides of that story were presented. Once the story was brought to their attention and weighed in on both sides the NRA did come out in support of Ra- [bearingarms.com]
Ra's story is one where it's a "she said she said" situation, and thus it was not easy for the jury to decide on. Point being made is, shortly after Ra's arrest the leftist media sources immediately jumped on the situation to attack the NRA for not speaking up, careful not to mention that the NRA was smart for doing so in order to get both sides of the story (all the facts) before weighing in on it, and the leftist medias took that as silence on their part. The Young Turks are a known liberal source, no surprise they would be quick to attack the NRA. The NRA did come out in support of Ra, so to claim otherwise would be a lie.

Same is true with the Trayvon Martin shooting, and evidence later came out in that case to suggest Martin got physical first and was pounding Zimmerman's head against the pavement, and when the NRA put their support behind a guy who stood his ground they were promptly attacked by the liberal medias who claimed the NRA was backing a racist which was untrue. Nevermind the fact that Martin was a troubled youth who was far removed from being innocent, but the liberal medias painted him as a helpless victim though.

Historically speaking, while not perfect the NRA has done more for black people in regards to enabling them to defend themselves than any far left organization ever did. Think about the very liberal democratic city of Chicago and all the gun control legislation that city has in place, and think of all the black people whose lives were ended due to said legislation failing them. Again, the NRA is far from perfect but by and large they do care about citizens of all colors to be able to defend themselves and their loved ones, and I personally know both liberal minded and conservative blacks who are NRA members and they would agree with me on that much. That video from TYT is another classic example of leftist misrepresentation, more propaganda to fuel the divide in our country. I have no qualms with those who criticize conservatives, we all should question things more often, but I do have a problem with those who while criticizing conservatives refuse to acknowledge the harm the far left has and continues to do in society. In other words, both sides of politics have been wrong at times, and if we are to ever come to an understanding in regards to our differences we need to start taking a middle path approach. It appalls me to no end the attacks on the NRA and those attacking them don't do much themselves to improve things, as I said just furthering the divide. This is why alot of folks these days question what the medias claim to be as factual, most of the mainstream media sources these days appear to say whatever they think their target audience wants to hear with little regard for truth, and I think you know that just as I do Mr Tiger.
