Haha, The International Conference Of Flat Heads...

The belief or disbelief in a flat earth is in no way analogous to the belief or disbelief in a god. There are plenty of ways (and some of these have been available for over two thousand years) to make observations which can only be explained if the earth is round. (And before pedantry overtakes someone, let me say that round is an approximation for oblate spheroid.) The diameter of the earth was known in classical antiquity to quite reasonable accuracy.

Man's populating pretty much the entire planet together with modern communications make testing this all very easy. Get on a live chat (or a telephone) with someone well to the east or west of you and ask what the time is, or with someone in the other hemisphere and find out what season it is. What you will observe is easily explained by a round earth model, but the flat earthers need to invoke incredibly convoluted explanations (which are at odds with both Occam's razor and Newtonian physics).

Perhaps I am generous in my belief that a lot of flat earthers are Terry Pratchett fans who are just having a laugh!
