And they still have not run out of money paying claims.

I'd say not running out of money to pay for lawsuits is sort of a good thing... even though it would be much better if they didn't do the whole sexually abuse children and cover it up kind of thing altogether.

Old news, he has since died.

I’d be OK with it if all he did was watch and use it. If he took the pics or used them for ideas in real children, hanging drawing and quartering would be letting him off easy. Not that I would ever endorse such a barbaric punishment. Priests are people with needs like everyone else.

It is doubtful such a collection coudl be gathered without purchsing some (and probably most) of them. The reson why it is illegal to own such photos is because the selling of such photos supports the exploitation of children and makes it profitable to do s... and as long asit is profitable, then children will be victimized and exploited.

I must say I wouldn't be ok if he watched and used it.

He died before he could be brought to justice - is that another case of covering up the tracks? Are the abused suing the church for damages? The church's secreting him away is IMO an admission of their after the fact participation and the church should be prosecuted for that behaviour..

"House arrest at the Vatican".....sounds like house arrest at a luxury resort! Convenient, though...since all he needs to do is go to confession, rattle his beats, strike his breast and.....BINGO. All's forgiven!

BASTARD!

Yes, I am of the opinion that secret confession and forgiveness enables "sin", but that I think is the idea. They make a person freel gulty, give them an easy way out, knwoing gull well that the person will sin again, and they become addicted to an easy way to feel better about themselves, without ever makign any real changes in their lives for the better. The guitl does help them get donations though.

He is a reason why there should be a hell to rot in.

Horrifying and sadly, not surprising.
