First off I am a big fan of Wayne Gretzky and his career and to be honest it really impresses me that no one alive has ever been able to come close to his records in Hockey I would think that Ovechkin from the Capitols is the closest to catching Greatzky ; my question is any predictions on how long his records stand?
It's hard to say. He played in a different era - a much higher scoring one. If the game goes back that way, some phenom could come along. I remember the huge hype that was generated when Guy LaFleur was drafted. I didn't even really follow hockey at the time, but he was outstanding, for his era.
It is definitely not what it used to be , kind of miss when the NHL loosely allowed scraps.
