Malaria always could be cured but not prevented. The mosquito bites and puts a zygot in your blood. Once the zygot is killed you are cured - until the next time you are bitten. My ex had malaria in Africa. She never has it here in the USA, but there was a time we had it until we made war on mosquitos to kill it.
