On my computer, I put a piece of blue painter's tape over the camera lens.

That's why I like last-generation technology; I don't have a camera.
Guess it all depends. I live alone and never entertain guests and pretty much a solitary individual except when a family member comes over for the holidays. If it wants to hear my conversations with the cat, go for it. I use it to control smart lights, play music, news, timers, and that's about it.
