For those who don't know this was my job in vietnam dustoff combat medic we rescued during the duration of the war 900000 casualties bravest people i ever served with we always went in shooting or not lives depended on us armed with m-16 on back of pilots chair 45 on my hip pistols on all of us no escort no gunships all alone day or night we were largely unknown except by those over there and ignored when we got back
More than once Dustoffs save more asses than I could ever count! If it were not for them and the now known "Golden hour of Life"!
I was one of the lucky ones who witness, yet never rode upon yet those Huey's!
So more than hats off or a simple thank you wil ever due for your accent into the hell of war, that never thanks but takes over and over without regret until we are no longer a memory, but a witness to what war has done to too many others!
I always hate when someone said to me "Thenk you for your Service"! To me! For we were only doing our jobs!
Their are exceptions: This one!
"Thank you for your Service"
May you and I never have to take part or witness these in these hells ever again!
I thank you very much for your insane bravery and sacrifice. I was in the US Army security agency from 70 to 74 put in for transfer to nam twice got reassigned to the Pentagon instead and wrote we regret to inform you letters to parents for a year. My friends didn't welcome me home either
