What is a non-religious ritual you commit to?

Basically, what's at least one thing you do that you consider "ritualistic" for your standard?

Chasing the little red dot...

One day, it shall be caught; one must have goals, after all.

Meow? 🤔🐈

Take my SSRI or I turn into a harpy.

Thank the FSM for Prozac.

I think morning coffee could be nearly spiritual, I have my special cup, and it have to be first thing in the morning, I close my eyes when I have my first sip, and I am feeling blessed

I totally get that.

Walk my dog every morning and evening. I like this thread!

That ritual is really healthy for both you and your dog.

I like this thread too!

Happy to see my morning coffee is very popular.LOL

Technically it's a drug of some sort, which ties in with rituals!

I loathe, and despise the liberal mentality on a daily basis.

You'll have to explain which it is....

Get up with the cats at the crack of dawn to give them wet food!

It's actually a peaceful ritual after my feet hit the floor. And this time of year I can see the light on the lake which is awesome.

Plus 'ankle rubs'!

I step out onto the front deck at sunset to just look and listen.
I live in the woods on a hill overlooking a small valley.

So you're a legend at that point. A guardian of an enchanted valley.

My ritual is not having rituals

2

I prefer my life to have fun random-ness...."ritual"? You mean like brushing my teeth?

Anything lol. I wanted the question to be really open.

Ritualistic. It's the daily repetitions that we all go through along with other relaxing things that I want to do. Earlier in life I was very physical. Today I am a computer nerd. This is what I do in spare time.

2

I can't think of a single one.

It's hard to. We're either embedded so deeply in our patterns, or perhaps some people have more chaotic or spontaneous lives?

After loading and powering up the coffee maker turning on the TV to catch the local news.

I tie my shoe laces right after I put on my shoes.

Rookie. I never untie my shoes. Hahaha.

Coffee in the morning..

Brushing my teeth.

Taking a shower and my meds every morning.

Getting dressed, taking morning meds, having a cup of coffee, watching the morning news to see what stupid stuff Trump tweeted overnight, watching the Weather Channel. Actually, I once had a cat, who was what you could call 'light-activated'. When I'd turn on the kitchen light--bang! zoom! he'd come running into the kitchen, with that "feed me! feed me!" look on his face.

Smoking weed at 4:20. Legit.
