Can't be fixed with a patch?! WTF? I don't buy that. If it has a driver -- how could it not? -- then it can be patched. It's not as though it's a direct connection to a data or execution bus.

Even if it can't be patched, one should be able to disable it or... maybe remove the driver. It might be a dead component, but that might be worth it in certain situations.

. . .drivers for the 'tool' ? or do you mean driver(s) for the Thunderbolt controller ?
