More on memorial day....
This from military.com..
They got it right, if we do not honor the whole is does not much good to honor a part of it.
"How to Honor Memorial Day
Memorial Day is about remembering and honoring every single man and woman who has died for our freedoms -- men and women who were mommies and daddies, sons and daughters, husbands and wives, brothers and sisters, patriots, incredible Americans and really, really great friends.

You want to honor and celebrate patriotism and the military this Memorial Day? Then you have to honor the complicated feelings surrounding it. Express your knowledge that this day is about remembrance."

Yet again, Memorial Day is to honor all those who’ve died. It’s timed to encourage family, not only to find, but clean & clear cemeteries ...as seasonal growth attempts to consume them.

Unfortunately, our misguided national 'military worship' continues to shove aside honoring everyone, if by ‘remembering or visiting’ all graves.. The military dead have their day, it’s called Veterans Day, this one’s for all of us ~
