End of lockdown, Memorial Day increased COVID-19 cases 25% to 50%.

"A lot of people are saying they are done with this virus. Well, the virus isn't done with us."

The 25-50% spike in coronavirus cases in Florida, Arizona, Oregon and other Southern and Western states can be traced back to around Memorial Day, when officials began loosening their lockdowns, health experts said Monday.

Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards, a Democrat, announced Monday that he would delay the next phase of the state's reopening for 28 days.

"This remains a very contagious disease," Edwards said. "There are a lot of people out there saying they are done with this virus. Well, the virus isn't done with us."

Conservatives hiding the truth

President Donald Trump and allies, including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey, have attributed the rise in cases to more testing, a claim most health experts say is at best partly true.

Ducey also suggested another uniquely Arizona reason for the spread of the virus last week. "We're indoors in the summers," he said.

Ducey, as well as DeSantis and Abbott, have all insisted that their states have enough intensive care beds to any surge.

But DeSantis has also changed his state's guidelines for ICU reporting. From now on, DeSantis doesn't want the hospitals to report the number of patients in ICU beds. He wants hospitals to report the number of patients who require an "intensive level of care."

Florida passed 100,000 coronavirus cases Monday and has recorded more than 3,170 deaths.

So much stupidity!!!

Texas is experiencing the same, and our governor refuses to even mandate mask usage, so only a few counties have done that. They've also stopped releasing daily COVID counts, while he discourages some from being reported at all. Our government is aggressively working against our well-being.

And so Rome burned while the emperor played the fiddle, (not invented then, possibly harp). But that was only a fire and one city, so I guess that you have to give Nero some credit, relatively anyway.

We have things reasonable in hand except for a few high density areas in Ontario and Quebec has quite a few also,,Most of areas are very near Zero but our biggest fears is opening the border with the US as you have such a huge volume all over your country and opennig up mass events and unrestricted beach use really has made your numbers spiked ,even tourist traffic coming from the big city,s to all the rural tourist areas have the locals worried, need the business but do not need another lock down ,so they are telling everyone to stay home and not travel ,really hard to do if you wish to go to a cottage etc as the locals do not want you in the area or even shopping ,It is a tough one,,hope they can get some sort of vaccine etc, real soon but the virus is mutating to and so easily transmittable
