LINK Hong Kong security law: China passes controversial legislation - BBC News

It is set to criminalise secession, subversion and collusion with foreign forces, but will also effectively curtail protests and freedom of speech.
The move follows increasing unrest and a widening pro-democracy movement.

No bueno.

It was only a matter of time before this happened in Hong Kong. The one country 2 systems policy was never going to last forever. It's up to the international community to stand up to China now. And that will never happen until Trump is gone. I think that is why China is getting this done now.

I think you may be onto something with the timing on this one...

I can see some heavy unrest and some heavy-handed suppression coming up soon.
I can also see a massive exodus of talent and money from Hong Kong to Britain and beyond.
