I've just read this in a local Spanish paper and simply had to share it.

..... and in Madrid, another one of Spainā€™s most affected regions, the night-time entertainment industry is planning to shut down bars, nightclubs and flamenco ā€˜tablaosā€™ between Friday and Sunday to protest the ā€œarbitrary and disproportionateā€ restrictions recently introduced by the regional government in a bid to curb the spread of Covid-19.

The expression "cutting off your nose to spite your face' springs to mind.

Whatever their motivation, I applaud the nighttime entertainment industry for shutting down during these difficult times.

Except that the shutdown is in protest at being told to close by 11pm and having to restrict the number of customers to 50% of licenced capacity. Spain now has the highest infection rate in Europe.

@Petter Yes, it's the wrong reason for doing the right thing.
