I visited my sister in Georgia. Couldn't stand it.

Too racist, ignorant and flat. I love Northwest mountains.

@LiterateHiker that pretty well sums up most of the south these days.. I miss the big mountains out there . Probably go back someday.

I do like the fine-print 'In God We Trust'.
It would probably be too subtle to claim it was there but in white ink on a white background.😋

They replaced a racist symbol of hate with a great big image of a parasitic pest everyone hates -- who thought that was a good idea? How can this one state have such a hard time getting this right?

I'm not entirely normal, but I have to ask, why 19 stars?
There were 11 states in the Confederacy, and 13 for the original colonies.
Nineteen seems odd, but it was the average age of American troops in Vietnam.

Because that's as many as they could add without it looking cluttered.

Perhaps that is the number of mosquito species the state has.

Good catch.

It might be because "Confederate Heroes' Day" is observed in January 19th each year in Alabama, Mississippi, South Carolina and Texas.
Maybe the entry isn't entirely satirical.

Edit: Looking it up... "Confederate Heroes' Day" may be on April 26 in Mississippi. I don't know.
Robert E. Lee's birthday is January 19th.
