I collect books on crime and fish.

This is a weird thing to collect but I collect rocks. Not valuable rocks, just interesting shapes and colored rocks. I live in an apartment at the moment but I used to put them in my backyard.

I collect awful men. I certainly don’t enjoy it at all. It’s a mystery.

Think I'll write one, 'till then I'll add this to my collection of ideas that fills the blank and begging pages of notebooks, being offered like 'hard drugs' to the unsuspecting ruminator!

I collect bananas. Since I was 18yo.
such a problem being what to do with them!?
They do have good points; neither large nor heavy and easily stored!
I have bananas from many places and countries, as I request (place an order) for them from my acquaintances who travel.
Still, what to do?

At times they languished in drawers, becoming disheveled on occasion.
I'd box them and find that special closet corner, reserved for 'unplanned surprises' during spring cleaning.

Finally, an epiphany! Form meets function!
I now carry a different one everyday, matching my clothes or the season or my attitude.
They serve as an icebreaker, a show and tell and hey, a handkerchief for my glasses (tissues scratch my lenses).
Let's not forget the occasional sneeze!
(I have about 400. Bananas that is, sneezes would number in the thousands I would guess!)

My other collections will have to wait, going to work.

I collect books, rocks and fossils, crescent moons, although I have a lot of different moon phases, and art. I love to have artworks hanging on every wall. I have quite a bit of works from local artists from different places that I have lived. Much of my artwork has a moon somewhere in it. I also have a lot of old family photos that I have framed. I have some antiques too. Some family heirlooms and some I found in some corner of a shop. I am definately not a minimalist. My daughter and son in law joke that when I die, they are going to turn my house into a museum.

I have quite a few collections. This one might scare people, but I have pretty nice collection of religious paraphernalia specifically Catholic. Anything from statuary to holy water bottles. Nope I’m not Catholic never have been, there’s just something about the art that I enjoy and I’ve always liked the ritualism. That being said, I also collect toys from when I was a kid, Pezz dispensers I have over 100, Batman figures I have over 30, lots of curious George lots of hello Kitty. Some Star Wars but specifically anything to do with Chewbacca. I love collecting things and they’re all collecting dust. I do not collect to sell. I have no kids so I’m not really sure what I’m gonna do with all the stuff but somebody will want it I’m sure.

Coming to think about it... I got a Great Collection of Memories!

Dust!

I collect interesting stones and Doctor Who memorabilia.

I collect EVERYTHING. To my misfortune.

Musical instruments. I have a crazy amount. I'm embarrassed about it. Really. Just off the top of my head I have 3 banjo's, a mandolin, a guitar, 2 Ukuleles, 4 flutes, 3 concertinas, 5 melodeons, 2 fiddles .... that's not all of them by a long shot

Pens, books, figurines of things I like, dictioaries, (I have 5) and Under Armour clothing.

Mistakes <deep sigh>

I collect a few things. Willow Tree figurines are my most recent fetish; they are so natural and earthy, and I love that they are faceless. I also have collections of small pewter pieces and rocks/shells/fossils from the places I travel/hike.

Aches and pains when the weather changes? I've collected many things but in the last few years I've decluttered and become a minimalist.

I have a thing for decorative masks. I have them all over my walls.

I used to be a stamp collector. But that activity is much to slow with my more ADHD inspired lifestyle.

I am laughing out loud as I glanced at your post!! I have 50 yrs of collecting to dispose of by the end of this month! I want to move into a 'tiny,' house and I wanted to spare my children this job...when 'my time is up!' When I was in my attorney's office...a gentleman there said his mom had died and he and sister had to clear out so much stuff...that he brought in a dumpster and it was full! That was one residency! So collect selectively...as this is similar to real nighmares, that I have had!

Books, since I have been a voracious reader since childhood. I refuse to buy another bookcase. When a new book comes in, another gets donated to the library.

Don't suggest a Kindle. I hate reading books on screens. I love the smell, heft and feel of beloved books. With favorite authors, I collect and re-read their remarkable books.

When I finished "Angela's Ashes" for the first time, I kissed Frank McCourt's picture before closing the book. Frank McCourt won a Pulitzer Prize for this first book, "Angela's Ashes."
