if they could ban christmas would it matter...it being just another day...and if not for all the commercialism it would be just another day where you would have to work like every other day...we name days to make us happy...but it does not make us happy...

Truth is it's a kind of global holiday now anyway, even in countries that are not very religious or Christian. In a way it has gone back to its pre Christian roots, and only people who want to link it to religion do that. For myself, it seems to me there are worse things from this Bronze Age dead and rising God messianic apocalyptic death cult called Christianity, like Easter, where the death cult themes are clear. Also, Christmas is now little more than a capitalism con, like many other days.

I like looking at Xmas lights, wishing people "Happy Holidays", putting up my decos, many of which have happy memories attached, making a lovely feast if only for me & the dogs......this year, lobster! Similarily I had a great Thanksgiving except I roasted a duck. It may not make you happy, that is very sad. I prefer to enjoy whatever/wherever I can find it

We name days to celebrate something or someone, like Mother's day and Father's day. Why not have a day set aside to celebrate something? I'll take a day off with pay any day. A company I used to work for gave Easter Monday off. I was thrilled to have a day off where most others were working, I didn't give a damn that the day before was special to xians. Nothing will "make" you happy unless you choose to be happy. If you want, call Xmas Winter Solstice. Does that help any?
