After the Civil War, then President Johnson gave amnesty to all the traitors who fought on the side of the South. Then almost 150 years later, their ancestors and the worshipers of their "War for Southern Independence" made a second attempt to take over the country; we saw their battle flag desecrating the nations Capitol Building. Is the country going to "forgive" and "move forward" again while letting those who attempted to destroy this country a second time live on as if nothing of consequence happened? Will the United States of America learn from it's history?

There were social and political leaders who sent that mob of terrorists into the People's House and they should not be overlooked just because they happen to be rich and powerful. Putting them in jail will send a message that reverberate throughout the rank and file of the traitors who do their bidding. Forgiving them and moving on only demonstrates that, if you're white, you can shit on America and nobody's gonna do a damn thing about it. You know, like they did almost 150 years ago.

Just as Obama did absolutely nothing about the war crimes of Bush, I highly doubt Biden will do anything about the crimes of Trump.

They are all in the same club, they take care of their own.

Appeasement was Lincoln's big mistake. It might have cost him his life. Robert E Lee should've been apprehended at Appomattox and put under arrest. They also should have arrested Jefferson Davis. Both should have been put to death for Treason. They needed to imprison many more. That might have made it harder for negative influencers to sabotage Reconstruction. The assassination was the big tragedy. Andrew Johnson did so much harm that still hasn't been erased. How long will it take to erase the damage done by Donald Trump?

Davis was initially arrested, put in chains, and held in terrible conditions. He was imprisoned for a couple of years before being released on bail and then given amnesty for his treason by Johnson.

Johnson is a horrible stain on the nation.
