LINK Arkansas Lawmaker Files Bill to Teach Creationism in Science Classes | Hemant Mehta | Friendly Atheist | Patheos

Having nothing better to do than make kids dumber, Arkansas State Rep. Mary Bentley, a Republican, has filed a bill (HB 1701) that would allow public school science teachers to β€œteach creationism as a theory of how the earth came to exist.”

It was decided years ago that Creationism is not Science

Arkansas ranks pretty low, as a state, when it comes to literacy. Maybe the students won't be able to read well enough to learn creationism.

Did not Kitzmiller v. Dover put an end to this sort of thing?

I might agree to allow creationism into the science class so long as it is taught as an example of fake science, pseudo-science, and what science is not. What better example of bad or non-science could their be?

Sigh...well at least the best way to create an atheist is to teach them religionb but this is usi thing tax payer money. They are only going to create more atheists. And hopefully some students will sue the schools for teaching them nonsense.

Leave them kids alone!

Bentley is not smart enough to know that her theory and a scientific theory are not the same thing. Bentley's "theory" is simply an idea that she had and it is based on nothing but her religion. The bibble told her so.

So Mary Bentley reckons she is a qualified and experienced cosmologist. People like her make me want to puke down their throats.

This battle was fought and lost years ago! And no new evidence of creationism has been discovered (because it didn’t happen), so there is absolutely no reason besides stupidity that this should even come up.

Not again! We went through this already (probably more than once). Creationism, Creation Science, or whatever they are attempting to pass it off as these days is not science and has no business being taught in science classes. It has likely only persisted because of fanatical home schoolers or alternative schools (likely the kind Betsey DeVoss wanted to help fund).

When you drink too much of this.....

LOL! Guaranteed to cure everything that ails ya (because you won't survive the cocktail).

People like her really piss me off.

Yeah, it gets old doesn't it. 🀬

@oldFloyd The only thing older is the crust on their underwear and socks.
