Star confusion, perhaps? A pentagram and the Star of David are not the same.

I think the implication is, that the Christian school would not now the difference.

David was apparently a Satanist.
We know according to lore Solomon called and controlled demons.
A medieval Grimoire (Magic book) was titled “The Wisdom of Solomon” is the source of many of those magic circles used to summon specific Demons. I wonder how they felt about it when it failed to work.
That part is not recorded.
