Learning from ancient wisdom - catch wind, literally!

FREECOOL technology
The warmer the climate gets, the more cool air we blast and the more electricity (and fossil fuels) we consume. Wind catchers are an ancient Persian technology with many features, such as filters and passive cooling systems. Researchers say that, at times, these systems could produce refrigeration temperatures.

Designing your structure with cross ventilation in mind is a good idea, the wind tower works best when combined with a cooling tower that utilizes evaporation of water inside the tower to provide cooling but this only works well in climates with low humidity to maximize evaporation. Still a good idea and I built on top of a hill with cross ventilation in mind, no A/C in my home but with intelligent design it never gets above 75 F in the summer, inside our home.
