From 1998 to 2014 David Letterman would have Jay Thomas on the last show before Christmas to tell the same story. The shows would also end with Darlene Love singing Christmas, Baby Please Come Home. This is from Letterman’s very last Christmas show in 2014 as he would retire in May of 2015.
I enjoyed it every year. Sadly Thomas passed away in 2017. I think you will enjoy this.
