Shuttering? What Millennial wrote this? Shutting, I think, and it should be the phrasal verb 'shutting down'. Shuttering is a building term.

Entry 2 :

@FearlessFly look at your own definition. It's applied to devices, or objects, not closing down activities. The point was about the writer of the article, not you. We don't say " this business is shuttering " We say 'shutting' and more usually, shutting down, a phrasal verb meaning bringing an activity to a close, like a business or organisation.

@David1955 Quibble.

@David1955 . . . look again :

Definition of shutter (Entry 2 of 2)

transitive verb
1 : to close by or as if by shutters corporations shuttering their production plants

To review :

A shady company with no experience in election ballot review was hired by Republicans to conduct a fake audit of ballots in exactly one county in Arizona, not the entire state, which then showed president Joe Biden winning by an even larger margin, immediately closed up shop after their job was done.

This same firm must now pay $50,000 per day until they release all the documents they produced during their fake audit because they defied a judge's previous order to produce said documents.

Their sanctions will not be discharged and the court will start going after individuals.

Did I miss anything ?
