LINK Twitter thread on "How religion evolved and why it endures" by Robin Dunbar

Dunbar argues that the neurological effects of religion are not that mystic, they are similar to other synchronous, communal rituals.

You savvy, @skado?

Religion is all about explaining things when you have no knowledge of the events you are wanting to explain. Some found "hidden knowledge" in this idea and soon it was used for power and control. Even today believing Christians use the book of Revelation to explain how everything will end when that book barely made it into the Christian bible. Using events of Revelation again, they jump back into Daniel and other books to continue making up more nonsense.
