An interesting read about a horrifying war, as opposed to the sophomoric "Putin is Hitler" twaddle that spews from CNN etc: Why Russian intellectuals are hardening support for war in Ukraine: [responsiblestatecraft.org]russian-intellectuals-are-hardening-support-for-war-in-ukraine/

I don't think Putin is Hitler and I'm well aware that Russia was promised not to expand NATO. I'm also aware that the eastern part of Ukraine was inhabited by Russian Nationalists.

I do not think that all of those things individually or together in any way justify the brutality and destruction Russia has brought down on Ukraine.

The article does not even touch on Russia's desire to secure seaports or the fossil fuel and agricultural treasures in Ukraine.
