Just because a person has a disability does not make them any less as a person!!
whats far more important if they are honest ,& have a caring heart.

I married someone that was disabled, so yes. I was also in a relationship with a man that lost his leg in a motorcycle accident. Also, I am now disabled, so anyone I date would have to be okay with it.

What literatehiker said. I had a crush on a one armed dj once. It broke my heart he was hitting on me only to find out he was married from someone else. I woulda tore that guy up.

Have you heard Tiffany Haddish tell her story about Roscoe, the one-armed baggage handler?

@GinaMaria No I've not. Is it searchable?

@Qualia Look up Tiffany Haddish Daily Show interview. Trevor Noah interviewed her and she tells that story, along with a few others. If you don't laugh until you cry, I'd be surprised.

@GinaMaria Thanks- I'll look it up! 🙂

@GinaMaria She is freaking awesome. ❤ ❤ ❤ Thanks for turning me on -have to put her book on list too. Might try audio for the 1st time with her. So cool!
re: one arm, yeah, my crush was a warm cloud, never went past hugs tho ... Be free or skip me!

@Qualia I'm so glad you like her! She's such a joyful person, and makes me piss myself with laughter.

@GinaMaria She's amazeballs. Thanks again 🙂

It depends on the disability. I would want to know how it affects the person.

Willy, my boyfriend for five years, lost his leg below the knee in a motorcycle accident at age 18. He started college the next semester on crutches. Willy helped develop the Seattle foot, a prosthetic foot with a spring for running. Willy developed a perfect gait. You would never know he had a prosthetic leg.

With all disabilities, there is a wide spectrum of impairment from mild to severe:

  1. vision Impairment.
  2. deaf or hard of hearing.
  3. mental health conditions.
  4. intellectual disability.
  5. acquired brain injury.
  6. autism spectrum disorder.
  7. physical disability.

Well, it'd be the height of hypocrisy if I were to shun someone merely because of their disability.

I was married for 36 years to a woman who had polio when she was 13 months old. had two kids and a good life until I caught the boy friend.

Depends on the disability. I am disabled but has little effect on me and no one else could tell (many of my long term friends did not know until I told them). I am rated at 40% by the military.

I'm mentally disabled. No one near me wants to date me.

Being an asshole is the only disability I try and avoid.

If I was single, I wouldn't rule it out. Sometimes, the people you love become disabled. Then what?

I would consider it.
