What are the best 80s songs?

I'm thinking about making an '80s playlist soon. What songs are a must have?

Great idea! Still my favorite music. There are so many excellent songs from that era.
I’m more of a new wave/punk/alternative lover, so I’d go with something from The Police, The Cure, Souxsie and the Banshees, etc.
Early U2, The Alarm and The Pretenders for a more rock feel.
Depeche Mode & New order for the synth dance stuff.
