Solving Our National Gun Crisis, Part 2

If we can resolve the political structure and procedural problems outlined in Part I, we will then have the power and the freedom to tackle the gun crisis head-on. The critical issues are what types of guns can be owned by private citizens, how do we regulate gun ownership, and what should be the penalties for improper sales, ownership, and use of guns.

The following are provisions I would recommend:

Ban the sale to private citizens, private ownership, and use of all semi-automatic weapons (pistols and rifles), except under the following condition: A person may purchase such weapons only if (a) he or she has first successfully completed a gun safety and proper storage and use course, ๐Ÿบ the weapon is only securely stored and used within the confines of a n authorized ad regulated gun club (This system works in Germany and allows for men who need it to exercise their macho weapons fantasies. )

Concurrently, the federal government, like those of Canada and Australia, initiate a gun by-back programs for all semiautomatic weapons privately owned and stored.

Outlaw the private sales and/or possession of (a)insertable high-capacity magazines (more than 10 rounds), ๐Ÿบhigh velocity ammunition with such force to cause bullet fragmentation upon impact.

Ban the sale and/or possession of โ€œghost gunsโ€ (guns without registered serial numbers with constructed by purchasing and assembling gun parts or created by use of 3-D printers.).

Require thorough background checks on persons attempting to purchase a weapon, whether the attempted purchase is from a registered gun dealer, a gun show, or from a private individual. Part of that check must show that the potential buyer has successfully completely an approved course in safe gun storage and use.

Any person using a forbidden type of firearm and/or unregistered gun in the commission of a crime, if convicted must be sentenced to the maximum allowable by law for the commission of that rime.

All private militias must be registered with the local, state, and federal government. That registration must include (a) a statement of the aims and mission of that groups, ๐Ÿบ a registry of all firearms in possession of the group, โ˜• proof that all members have completed approved gun safety courses, and ๐Ÿธ proof that all weapons are securely stored and used. Failure to meet those conditions will result in confiscation of all weapons in possession of the group.

These provisions, along with currently proposed red flag laws, should result in at least an 80.0 to 90.o reduction in gun-related deaths. At the same time, it should result in a more civil society.

Really funny..... Take guns from the people who are legal will result in only more death.....

Last year people defended themselves 2 MILLION times with firearms.... 99.99 % of the times no one was hurt... Just showing the weapon was sufficient.... 2 MILLION CRIMES AVERTED!!!

black people killed 8700 black people last year with illegally possessed guns.

YO! DUMB FUCKS:::::TIME TO BUY A VOWEL!

Your view and conclusionb are both nuts.

@wordywalt You forget that criminals don't care about laws, that is why they are called criminals.

Have you read the SCOTUS Heller case?

First, google scotus heller. You can probably avoid the chaff by googling scotus heller decision.

A summary: History demonstrates, Scalia said, "the right was not a right to keep and carry any weapon whatsoever in any manner whatsoever and for whatever purpose."

Or you can continue wasting your time.
