Perfect, like something I might have said.

People can find motivation to get up and go to work in the morning if they are working for themselves and their families. That's why free market capitalism works.

People cannot find motivation to get up and go to work in the morning if they are working for millions of strangers. That's why all forms of collectivism, on a large scale, fail.

Economists like Sowell and Friedman could grasp that simple concept.

Galbreath could not.

You don't get it...? But then why would you?

@FrostyJim Just look at 20th Century World History. Countries that engage in free-market capitalism experience wealth, innovation, longevity, and prosperity.

The USA, West Germany, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore

Countries that engage in collectivism experience poverty, stagnation, and often state-sponsored mass murder:

The USSR, East Germany, North Korea, The PRC.

  1. 61,911,000 Murdered: The Soviet Gulag State
  2. 35,236,000 Murdered: The Communist Chinese Ant Hill
  3. 20,946,000 Murdered: The Nazi Genocide State
  4. 10,214,000 Murdered: The Depraved Nationalist Regime
  5. 2,035,000 Murdered: The Khmer Rouge Hell State
  6. 1,670,000 Murdered: The Vietnamese War State

@Matias Agreed. The closer you get to free market capitalism, the more wealth, innovation, longevity, and prosperity you see. The closer you get to collectivism, the more poverty and economic stagnation you see.

@Matias Here is one:

There may be others that are better, but this was the easiest thing to find.

If you plot GDP per capita vs. the economic freedom metric, you will see the correlation is very high.
