LINK ‘The Socialists Are Taking Over,’ Whole Foods CEO John Mackey Laments | The Guardian

Another company to Boycott. Easy for me. I don't shop there because they are overpriced. If progressives stop buying there they wouldn't have any customers. I'd never shop at a store with the nickname, Whole Paycheck. If it's not on sale I won't buy it. I haven't bought eggs in a month. At $5 a dozen I'll just eat something else.

That's my attitude also. I haven't shopped there, at all, since Bozos bought it and tried to persuade others not to. The Prog's who populate it are even a rather snobby bunch for whom I don't wish to be associated.

They have brown cheese from Norway but I don't need to go there anymore because Sprouts also has brown cheese from Norway. I only bought it about twice a year anyway and I agree everything was so overpriced I didn't buy anything else.

What the hell is "brown cheese from Norway"? I've gone this long in life without that, I'll keep going.

@barjoe it cost a fortune if you have it shipped but it's $8 at sprouts.[foreignusa.com]

@Lorajay That's a link regarding minimum wage in Oklahoma.

@barjoe whoops, it was a link to an online site where I can get a case of 12 at 7.98 each. I would never use 12 without weighing 300 lb and the shipping would be astronomical because it has to be shipped cold. I'm too lazy to look for it again. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

@barjoe

@Lorajay Does it have a weird caramel, peanut buttery taste? I've had it. No offense, but it's horrible.

Never been there. They obviously are looking to cater to a wealthier clientele. This may help them get rid of the people who budget.

There's a store called Wegman's I have to go to Jersey and they have everything that Whole Foods has and they are only expensive for gourmet items when their cost is high. The only people I know who go to Whole Foods are liberal yuppies. Fuck this guy John Mackey.

@barjoe This is the only John Mackey I like.

Yeah, I love eggs, but I can't fuck with them right now. If they drop to about $2 every couple weeks I scoop up a dozen, but it's hard. Within the past couple years I was buying a dozen eggs for a low as $0.25 from the Aldi on the more rural side of me (I think there's a lot of people with chickens causing competing maybe?)

And I'd love to boycott Whole Foods, but I've literally never bought a single thing from that store.

There is a bird flu epidemic so supply of eggs is very low. Aldi has them for $3 but they are caged eggs.

@barjoe Yeah, seems like it goes in a cycle because of this. I think what's happening is that they have to destroy a bunch of hens all at the same time. Then there's an overcorrection/all young hens so there's a price-tanking surplus. I hope that comes soon.

@ChestRockfield The price will come down somewhat. You'll never see eggs for $1doz ever again.

@barjoe I think we will. And I'd bet it'll happen in a year or less.

@ChestRockfield Caged hens are part of the reason the epidemic spread so badly. I think the industry will move on from that as the prevalent production method. No. You will never see eggs $1 dozen again. They are not as good as cage free eggs either. The yolks have a pale yellow color. Pasture raised eggs I've had, have almost orange color yolks and taste a lot better.

@barjoe If it's between $5 orange-yolked pasture-raised dozens and $1-2 pale-yellow-yolked regular eggs, especially for anything where the egg isn't standing alone, I'll take the yellow.

They are Incredibly overpriced on Everything!
People, both Trader Joe's and Aldi's have a ton of organic foods for normal prices!

Some people I know call them Whole Paycheck.
