(Besides, the Bible is really what we editors would call an anthology: a collection of books, stories, fables, bits of history and conjecture from different authors and sources, times and places, all gathered and combined in an attempt to make a point that they are connected. There are several versions, and many related materials — sometimes included, sometimes left out — depending on who the editors were and what their agendas were.)
