These former trumpers are so scary. Helsinki was Walsh's moment?!?!?! The Brooklyn woman thought trump was the way to go?!?!? She's from NY and could not see? Russian Jews thinking trump was qualified to be president?!?! Musta been a fox news viewer.
I realize they get it now but I have been saying since the mid 1980's that where the GOP was going was dangerous. But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO no one listened to me.
Am I happy with the Dems? Hell no and IMHO both parties got us to trump but of course the biggest cause for where we are is the media.
It wasn't until the COVID lock down in March 2020 and I began listening to Heather Cox Richardson's history of the Republican Party that I came to understand exactly how we got here. No wonder the GOP does not want Americans to understand how both parties created laws and fought 2 wars on American soil that have brought us to where we are today.
Don't EVEN get me started on the GOP view of water issues and the EPA. Yes, even water on 'private' land is part of a whole and connectivity matters and the many who refuse to understand.
I knew trump was bad from the start but his inviting known Russian spies into the Oval Office and refusing to allow American press in the room sealed it, that was May 2017. Helsinki was over a year later in June 2018.

Mostly I agree but an experiment started in the 70's using computers to determine the path of humans on Earth predicted the first thing to go (in the U.S.) was politics. People are angry and look around to see why. Resources are crashing. Inflation is an indication of a diminished resource base not some frigging politician. CC is anthropogenic and will get worse. The sixth great extinction has been around for a while. These are a few of the maladies in this world today and politics is a reaction not a cause (although under republicans it will get even worse). This was brought home to me the other day when I received the counties assessment of my property value. It went up $100,000 in a single year. Others have gone up as much as $200,000, This is about demand and supply. Housing is expanding in this county and it seems in an uncontrollable way. We wonder why homelessness is at an all time high.

@JackPedigo That's a big jump but you're on an island which further limits a vey valuable resource - fresh water.
@silverotter11 Not really. Yes there are salt water starting to intrude in people's wells but many of us are finding the huge advantage of rainwater harvesting. In the winter there is plenty and it allows the well to recharge.The water can be filtered and purified (UV or Ozone) so it is totally pure with no chemicals and soft. It takes a little more work but is a lot cheaper than digging a well. I have 5400 gallons which is more than enough for the dry times and the well is used for the garden.
What about those of us who have grown disillusioned with the players from both major political Parties? What's to become of us?? Guess we'll go the way of Old Yeller, lol...
That bit aside, that Q Anon stuff is some of the most poisonous tripe I've seen in years.

Start a new party?
Be a new kind of player in one of the existing parties?
@skado Think I'd go with the former suggestion there. I'm sure over the years there's been a number of folks who attempted to be that different type of player for their respective political Party, only to eventually become the average Party supporter (same old same old) instead.
