Suffice to say... freedom of thought and belief isn't what it used to be. The belief that the existence of a god can neither be proven nor disproven, and the belief that God does not exist are legally valid beliefs and protected free speech. Because religious dogma sometimes encourages people to persecute beliefs which contradict with the beliefs mentioned in religious dogma, the attendance of many a religious temple suffers, and to the extent that religious organizations persecute contradicting beliefs of others unaffiliated with their organizations or denominations the attendance will atrophy until there is no longer a temple. It's been said that a house with a poor foundation will not stand. It is oftentimes psychologically necessary to be agnostic or atheist, and doubt and disbelief are a part of the mechanisms of faith. Treating the gentiles with kindness and respect is at the heart of most of the original texts.

Time to convert them to homeless shelters to serve the poor as they were supposed to be doing in the first place?

Maybe they can be renovated into office space or retail space, etc

The problem we will soon run into is that the terrible state of churches will be declared as "acts of God" or "historical sites" in order to force the very taxpayers that are ignoring them to pay for them anyway.

Good to see!

Yes this is a problem, the people that built these churches couldnt conceive that their beliefs wouldnt carry on forever.
