I am the straightest thing in the universe

yet, I am not commonly show as a line.

You may try to change me

but, doing so will destroy me.

I dictate what has, is and shall happen

but, many who dislike what i say ignore me

while those who except me call me ugly.

While my tapered counterparts are accountable,

they seem bent .
