Whether or not there's fate, there certainly seems to be no evidence for a libertarian notion of free will, and that seems to be tantamount to meaning the same thing as fate for us.

i don't believe in fate that can be proven scientifically. however, it definitely seems that many of the important things that occur in most ppls lives can be described as fate.
some ppl are lucky others unlucky. e.g. i met my 1st wife bc i was transferred to a navy ship a few weeks before it made a visit to a place i never would have gone to otherwise.
there's an example of fate or as i think of it really shitty, bad luck.
