We naturally see symbols through the filters we have grown accustomed to. It makes me wonder how many theories about archaeology and anthropology would benefit from a fresh perspective without the preconceived notions one gets in university.

We are all a combination of the things that we have been exposed to during the course of our lives. Sometimes it is good to go back to square one and reset our thinking.

You bring up a very valid point.

People have been reusing symbols for eons.

I like the hieroglyph that seems to depict a light bulb or a fighter jet, myself.

Before Germany in the early '30s, this symbol was used for hundreds of years, all over the world and had several different meanings.

@Wrytyr exactly! It is tragic in a way that the symbol has been corrupted.

@Wrytyr, @Surfpirate I wonder what they really were representations of. I hope there are more to find that can help clarify what is going on there.

@Donna_I I think the science is slowly starting to acknowledge that the lens that many of the early discoveries were viewed may have been a little cloudy.

@Surfpirate thank goodness!

Once this gets out, people will flock to the pyramids.
