What is it?are et
It's a timber rattlesnake.
@JimG I did not see what I would recognize as rattles on its tail.
@dalefvictor if I could post a video, you'd hear them.
Enlarge photo one. They're there.
@JimG they sure are. These things scare me greatly.
@dalefvictor this snake never attempted to strike me. Even when I grabbed her tail she only tried to crawl away.
@JimG I didn't know they came in such dark colors. All the ones I've seen have been shades of brown. That's pretty cool.
@OpposingOpposum This is a timber rattlesnake. I've seen a lot of yellow phase from bright yellow to dull brown, hundreds of black phase from charcoal to jet black, and even one olive phase (grey-green). That ones posted somewhere in this group I think.
@JimG I probably saw it and didn't realize what it was.
@OpposingOpposum here's my first post in this group.
I, for one, appreciate them greatly !
i do too.

Posted by InsectraA cute grey treefrog (Hyla versicolor) that I found in my birch tree, this afternoon. His camouflage was great and I only discovered him when I heard him calling.
