For as long as I can remember, I've been fascinated by reptiles. Snakes are a particular favorite of mine, and Florida is a great place to see a lot of snakes in the wild. Here are a few of the beautiful snakes I found in Florida. Most were just moved safely off of the road; though the diamondback was spotted at Corkscrew Swamp and the Burm was humanely euthanized as invasive pythons are a huge ecological concern in Florida.
Gartersnake
Banded watersnake
Glossy crayfish snake (a species I'd only ever seen in books, previously)
My first wild Eastern diamondback rattlesnake
Burmese python
Ribbon snake
And a beautifully light colored banded watersnake

the garter snake has a blue tint on its side I guess there are sub species . We have lots of eastern diamond backs in eastern NC .

@Insectra I have only ever seen one with a green-blue streak on its back, really pretty.

Reptiles ... (especially alligators), one of the main reasons I moved here to reptile (and insect) heaven !

My chickens are confined to their run, large as it may be. All to protect my garter snakes & salamanders. There needs to be a market for python boots.

I almost stepped on a diamond back rattler, I was in northern Montana way out in the badlands. It rattled, I went up, presently still hold the record for levitating, and the snake went I do not know where. When I came down it was no where. I looked as I did not want to step on it. Seen many since then, they scare me.
