There's no reason to resist, you will be assimilated but still keep you cultural identity in the social salad bowl that is Canada. Melting pot fans can go further south.

I have a personal pet theory that the US will not invade Canada because it would be like infecting themselves with universal health care and a real social safety net. The occupying troops (we're not going to resist but rather envelop) will see what it is really like to live in a socially responsible society and carry that back home to the motherland, from there the infection would spread to the point that it would be unstoppable. *well maybe not Florida
