We don't let our two outside very often.
This is one reason:

If you have or had multiple cats have you noticed specialization on their parts? I had one that only got snakes and hummingbirds and another that was voles. One brought in rabbits.

My kitties do not go outside.

When I was a teen living with dad/stepmonster, I was sick in bed with the flu. Stepmonster let cat in but didn't notice what she was carrying. Kitty came up to my bed and proceeded to try to dismember a bird. Ewwww! I grabbed kitty by the only part I could reach, the tail. Kicked my feet to kick the bird corpse off the bed, and holler for help from parents. Dad heard me, yelled at stepmonster to go find out what I needed. She came up, grabbed tissues, then the birdie, and took the birdie for disposal. I let go of kitty and kitty followed bird and stepmonster. A few moments later kitty was back on the foot of my bed, and for about 15 minutes she scolded me!! Seriously, she was a Siamese, she was a talker. She gave me a stern talking to for several minutes, and sniffed all over the bed hoping we missed a bird part. She was my first heart cat, I loved that little girl and I was her chosen human. But I draw the line at eating dead birds on my bed!

Great story!

My old calico once brought a cotton mouth and left it for me at the back door. She would also bring back rabbits.

When I was a child one of the barn cats brought a snake, much smaller than that one, and laid it right over my grandmother's feet. Aaaaaaaaaa!

I don't let any of mine outside because I don't want them to get run over. 😟

LOL. I had a cat bring me a live rattlesnake once. It was pretty impressive.

@kenriley He was very pleased with himself. 🙂

Yikes!

How did he not get bit?

@dalefvictor Snakes' propensity to bite varies by individual I guess.
