My first kitty was a polydactyl. She had plans for world domination! Or really good hunting? I'm never sure which?
@SeaGreenEyez Up here in New England they're also called Captain's Cats or Ship's Cats [en.m.wikipedia.org]. There are more here than anywhere due to the sea trade and the luck they were believed to bring on board. ???

It is a Vestigal appendage. The bit about animals is in the very last bit of the article.
It is not considered a genetic flaw in cats. (It in now way indicates poor health).
I also had a dog with an extra toe on each front paw. I just didn't check under the hood before I brought her home. And neither of us ever cared. It was one more claw to trim though.
At this growth rate...I'll be able to text in 2,483 years....Give or less!!!!!
