There are at least two ways to react to this. One is to get choked up about this account of something that happens all too often, then go back to whatever you were doing. However, it would be more productive to actually do something about it. Rescue organizations desperately need foster homes. If cats need rescuing but have nowhere to go, they don't get rescued, they die. It's just that simple. You can find a rescue organization that very much needs you at www.nokillnetwork.org.
Oh, how sad. I wish I could give a home to the thousands of needy cats, but know I can't. At least I gave a home to the 2 I have.
Foster: you'll help many.
@RRRRComposer My Frankie is a foster from 2 years ago that never left.
Same goes when you take a little furry into your house. Once they are in, you are their forever human. Some just take them in only to kick them out again. ALL of the cats I have been a guardian to are rescue. Reminds me I should pet them right now.
If they are out of food, and I don't have much of my own, I'll give them my food, and go hungry myself rather than them going hungry.
When I first bought my house I didn't have any human furnature. I bought cat condos for them. I slept on the floor with only a blanket.
