Maybe we're the anomaly, but all of our cats were always right there in the middle of whatever brouhaha was going on.

Not in our case, we're always here, no kids around, don't socialize, so life is not that different.

Not a problem here. I'm retired, so no work, no kids, no wife, and just one cat, who tolerates me. LOL
