It's fragility has been known for generations and I surmise even from the beginning (Thomas Jefferson foresaw the need for constant changes and awareness). Luckily, science came into play and some concerned people took advantage of it. It is especially noteworthy that Planned Parenthood got involved (I imagine to the chagrin of the evangelicals). Both surprised and not surprised at the massive work that was done. Apparently, many felt, as most here, that this was a life changing issue for the whole planet. I donated my $1,200 and + relief money to the cause and would have given more (luckily, here, we already have mail-in-voting + a very democratic governor and two democratic, female, senators so this was not really an issue). Little shrift seems to be given to how the loss of lives and the spread of the virus showed how inept tRump was at handling a true emergency to helping defeat our most inept (non)president in our history. Add, the riot last month to provide the proverbial icing on the cake. Despite what the cowardly senators do tRumps (and possible even their) goose is cooked.

My main concern is simply how did this obvious POS get elected in the first place and what gave him so much power and so many enablers even up to this day when his cowardly lackeys in the senate still give him a free pass? This is not an anomaly. The breakdown of the political system has been predicted for over 2 decades by people as in this report. This country and much of the world has reached a breaking point. The convergence of a major pandemic, Climate Change and the total breakdown of many other environmental processes, the extinctions of hundreds of thousands of non-human species, The warnings of thousands of scientists [cbsnews.com] and on and on only lead to one conclusion - the time is neigh to take stock of what we are doing to the LIFE (writ large) support system of this planet and make major changes. Over and over it has been said if we don't deal with our raping of the planet in a peaceful way nature will do it for us and it won't be pretty. I fully believe right now she is sending us a preview of things to come.
