Lots of places in Africa are like that. The African episcopal church was going to break off after the main branch in England opened up for gay marriage - it hasn't yet, my guess is money.

That crap wouldn’t fly here, but LGBT rights in Middle Eastern countries in particular are monstrous.
I didn’t have to watch Midnight Express more than once to know the closest I’ll ever get might be Western Europe, I wouldn’t even travel to Eastern Europe.
Most of the world sucks and it’s hard to know the rules in such a foreign culture.
You can insult someone by exposing the bottom of your feet because sitting cross legged felt comfortable.
Altogether not worth the hassle.

Our country isn't a gem either.
@JonnaBononna Tell me about it, I also avoid Texas, Louisiana, Florida, and Mississippi for the same reasons. I hear in New York you can be woke up by a smell. I'd live in Quebec Canada every spring if I could afford it. Beautiful city especially during Jazz Fest.
@Willow_Wisp I'd love to avoid Louisiana... I'd leave but my kids and grandkids are here
@JonnaBononna my kids and grandkids are all in Texas, as was I for the last 20 years. I got to the point where I was either going to stay and be miserable , or leave and finally live the life I wanted. I left last November after I voted against all repubs. It’s not perfect for me, but I am happy now and back close to where I grew up.

@Redheadedgammy I have been separated from my children since 1990, I see how they are doing on facebook, they are fine, but things are not good for people in Montana. It is hard but there is nothing I really want to do about it. If I am going in that direction as soon as I leave Oregon I start to get sick, as soon as I am returning it goes away. At least that is the way it was back when I did that.
